I understand that this is indeed the case with most venomous snakes.
Then there is the HA problem. This is where the EB strikes you but doesn't envenomate you. Often strikes can be warning dry strikes but then the person doesn't know if its wet or dry so there is the possibility of the HA happening...HA = heart attack from worry lol.
I remember a Tiger snake striking my mates pants leg when we were well off rd and well up in a tributary of the Goulburn R. I said to him " **** me mate you would have been in serious schitt if the fangs had of got through your strides" as I weighed up how long it would have taken me to get out to a point of getting some sort of help. Pre cell ph days it was and there would be no signal in that spot any way.
