Steiner ranger ballistic turrets

Has anyone fitted a set of the ballistic turrets to a steiner ranger? From what I have read they don't feature zero stop? So essentially does that mean you can wind past zero if you get confused.. my thinking was this would only really happen if it takes more than 1 revolution to dial out to a reasonable distance?
Apologies if I have missed something obvious, this is new territory for me!
Thanks in advance.

It depends on what product you have. The Ranger 6 and Ranger 8 models have a zero stop, the Ranger 4 doesn't.

Depends on how far you are shooting. I’ve just got mine out I still have in the box, having not had chance or the actual need to fit it.

Looking at the rings and depending which you fit it would be obvious which way you need to rotate the turret to get back to zero. It’s certainly not a scope I would be dialing with regularly. The rings are calibrated for different cartridge ballistic curves out to 400m and to be honest if you are target shooting regularly I would select a different scope.

Thanks, no not regular adjustment at all. Will be zeroed at 100 and maybe dial out to 300 from time to time. Can you dial to 400 within 1 rotation of the turret?

Your asking funny questions. You obviously have the scope at hand. So you know it doesn‘t have zero stop. You can also count the clicks in one full revolution. Do the math yourself please.

Sorry Steff I think you misunderstand me... I have the Ranger with no ballistic turrets and I am looking to buy the after market turrets... didn't want to spend £150 on them if some helpful fellow on here has them and and they are not up to much.

In answer to your question @Pickles adding the turret gives you to the option to pick from a set of rings provided a ring that suits your calibre, bullet etc. To do this you basically slip take the existing turret screws out using the provided driver slip (its more of a push than a slip in truth) the selected ring down over the turret. This then gives you 100-400m or maybe 500m depending on ring increments to turn the turret to. Its a simple system, but it doesn't have a zero stop and relies on you turning the scope back to the 100m zero after us. Its only marked to I think 400m so its within one full turn for most if not all calibres.

Thanks mate, they sound perfect for the job. Will get a set.

I'm not sure about the Steiner but there are some options for adding a zerostop.

Either a threaded ring with screw clamp to go on the thread where the old cap used to go. I've seen aftermarket versions for Sightron so may fit the Steiner or they make them for the Steiner. This then stops the turret from screwing down further than a few clicks past zero and prevents you from being a whole turn out without realising.

Another option is to make one yourself. Similar principle using a piece of plastic pipe that you cut a ring off to the exact size of the gap between the bottom of the turret and the scope body.
