Stiffest sticks?

Viperflex. I really have abused mine and they just keep going. Expensive but they are built to last. They also have a uk based service provider so if by chance you bend or snap them I’ve read several people saying they are fixed for free.

For Free! I found the opposite they charged me an extortionate amount for postage just for the almost weightless inserts, maybe others have had good customer service not in my case.

Check out the Jakele range as an alternative, I have Viper Flex and was given a loan of a set of Jakele’s whilst my others were getting fixed, I tend use them all the time now .
If you can get to try out a few different makes before buying to help see what works for you.

Mine don’t whistle now I covered them with the tubing they supply? With these sticks does it bother you that you can’t pan the rifle L and R like you can with the flat front rest on the viper flex sticks? Not sure the cost is that bad compared to the money some spend on rifle and scope.
Nor do mine, they now have that rubber covering on them that stops it.

Not at all I want to kill it not look at it!

Why the need to pan? If I open my sticks somethings going to happen.

I’ve shot multiples many many times and never needed to pan, the secret is to be In the right spot unseen and undetected then you don’t need to pan

As for cost what’s better £250 - £300 for a set of sticks or £50 sticks that don’t whistle?

I know what camp I’m in and the one being robbed isn’t the one 👍
Hi there - yes on the pan point, I tend to get the sticks up even if the deer is not broadside or still moving a bit. I pan a bit for shot placement but am happy moving the legs for larger adjustment (e.g second deer). It seems to work for me.

Same a Lee, also often on a second deer (fallow reds) also a follow up shot they can run way out of the distance you can "pan" then you will have to spin on the sticks and take the shot!
Often out foxing one will come out behind you so it is a 180!
Personally I like the least amount of movement in a rifle, you go to the trouble of getting the thing set up V bag B-Pod then add 3" it can move in.
@Norfolk Deer Search
Ok fair point. I pan but am happy to spin on the sticks too if I need but if it’s only moving a small bit then it’s nice not to move the sticks. On stability I find the rubber grip at the front of the Viperflex locks the rifle steady - like a bench rest with the fifth leg deployed, however it might depend on the shape of the stock. Parker Hale 1200 in 308 so old ish but works fine.

I suspect they all do now, mine are the same, tough rubber lining to prevent whistling. I looked at Blaser sticks prior, the screw lock collars do not promote confidence, and anecdotally I have had my fears confirmed about them.
