Storing bolt separately - firing pin issues

Ha ha, because if someone breaks into your gun cabinet they can’t just as easily break open the ammo safe as well? Ridiculous..

True but my !ot recommend that your ammo safe is somewhere other than where your gun Cabinet is

Which is exactly what I have done so even if the find and get access to my cabinet they still need to find my ammo safe to get the bolt.

Of course they can. But instead of one cabinet to open it's two. It's about buying time. Elsewise we might as well not lock our front doors.

Two cabinets increases that time.

Especially if by forcing one they either break the tools they've used or render unopenable the unforced cabinet that's alongside the just forced one.

Personally I store all the small stuff, bolt, shotgun forend, mags, moderators and ammo away from the rifle/shotgun cabinets in a separate room, not told to do so by the feo or anyone else just for my own peace of mind. Also both the rooms have locking doors on them so anyone would have to get past these 1st before having access to the gun cabinets. Never forgotten a bolt or forend yet.

Regards John

Having the bolt removed is a sure way to tell your rifle’s not loaded.
I’m sure someone, somewhere has put a loaded rifle back in the safe.
We are always told to treat a gun said it were always loaded,in a crowded cabinet, you reach in,grab the rifle by its barrel and withdraw it with the barrel pointing pointing in the direction of your face.....
