Strange lungs

Hi all,

I shot a young fallow buck last night, and all of the inspection was fine, except the lungs were a bit different ...

They had blotchy, or mottled patches, kind of a creamy-beige colour with some smaller dark patches thrown in.

I've seen this on the edges of lung tissue before, and understand it's not an issue...but this was throughout the whole lungs.

When incised, the lungs were broadly a consistent texture accross all colours. The mediastinal was fairly large and juicy, but I wouldn't say swollen or pussy/gritty.

I dont want to discard un-necessarily...looking for opinions as to wether a cause for concern, or hopefully not.

Thanks!

did you photo is after sunset ? Personally i dont see much to really worry me but there just isn't the clarity to say with the photos . Its now the norm that the lungs stay in for the dealer to view . The inside of the ribs should be free of nasty legions. lung worm is frequently an issue but that is not a big issue tbf

Thanks for the replies. Yes it was taken after dark by torch light, as both phone flash and headlamp had failed! My gut feeling was that it wasn't anything too concerning, but definitely caught my attention and got me wondering. The lungworm suggestion makes sense, and it will be for personal consumption, so will crack on and get munching.
