Plenty of up votes for HW100, what about a HW95?
I fancied a none-pcp air rifle for close up rats and garden practice, any idea what's best and I'm thinking .22?
Alternatively and going by the responses here, should I be looking at a HW100 and diving tank, what sort of budget would I need?
My last air rifle was an AA 400 and it just didn't get enough usage to justify hence me considering a springer for the occassional mess about.
Any thoughts, or suggestions, or possibly moving something on?
Any springer is going to save you a heap of money over buying a PCP in all practicality, especially if you want to avoid pumping and want a dive bottle too, but the PCP is just SO accurate and consistent. Buying 2nd hand will save a good few bob obviously.
A bit of practice and a good springer will account for plenty of vermin. If you really want pellet-on-pellet accuracy at 25yds and above go for a PCP.
From experience I'd say "Just buy anything Weihrauch then practice with it. Find what (standard dome-head) pellets it likes best, and stick to them. PCP or spinger I don't think Weihrauch ever made a poor air-rifle."
Having said all that ... Go on. Treat yourself to an HW100 and a 7 litre top-up tank. You know you want to !
