Sunak has fired the Tory Chairman Nadhim Zahawi.

During the last Tory leadership campaign, I heard someone say: "If Sunak wins, we'll find out what real corruption is".
 
Just to post a counter view, I am an arch stirrer after all, who leaked his details? Unless you are prosecuted all your dealings with HMRC are supp;osed to be absolutely confidential. Surely a firing matter for someone in HMRC.

Not at all.
If the fact of a tax penalty being levied has been leaked by a member of HMRC staff then they've done the public a service.
They're as human as we are, and entitled to detest corrupt politicians who continue to lie to the press.
This is a repeated pattern of Tory behaviour which insults everyone's intelligence.
Just how can anyone forget a share windfall of £20M, or think the taxman won't want a piece of it?

Sorry but if it is a condition of your employment that the information that crosses your desk is confidential that means all the information is confidential. How would you feel if your doctor decided that it was in the county's interest to know all about your health records? The policy is no different confidential means just that.

My health record doesn't concern me as it's of no public interest.
It appears HM Government now encourage staff to disclose details of fraud.:)
