Lenses are undamaged due to the protection offered by the (often lost) brass objective cover and 'guillotine' style eyepiece shutter.

Further protection is offered by the sturdy case that has been further reinforced with a section of PVC pipe to ensure it does not deform. Can easily be used as a rifle rest under a rolled up jacket.

Stiching has been done to the highest standards with rot proof threads and high quality brass buckles used.

The scope itself retains the original black leather covering in good condition. There is a small dent to the main body under the leather which does not impede image or function.

Total weight with case is circa 1kg due to the strudy drawn brass tubes and leaded glass. Arguably a benefit for spying on a windy day.

Objective lens measures approximately 60mm in diameter, ocular opening is 10mm when shutter is lifted. Overall length is 77cm when fully extended and 26.5 cm collapsed.

The price for the above scope and case, along with UK wide insured special delivery, is £800.00

With a Gray & Co. Telescope costing much more, no longer being available to purchase, and not having the same end-user friendly feature, which is that it can be fully disasesmbled for cleaning and drying of the 5 lenses after a wet day on the hill

Just a quick note to thank @finnbear270 for allowing me to re-home his Ross scope.

Arrived this day (Recorded Delivery) - very well packaged.

Fighting my way past two (yes two) boxes, I eventually uncover the beautiful leather case.

Which cradles the collapsed Ross scope...

Beautifully engraved...

The damn thing weighs the same as an average size Garron.

It is however, a thing of beauty, and I am delighted to be its latest custodian.

Thank you again to @finnbear270 - I am delighted to post this 'positive feedback' for a well known SD member.

May I also thank @caberslash for his wise counsel, in the lead-up to such an extravagant, and utterly ridiculous purchase.

I have promised both men, that I will take the thing onto the hill, the next time I am fortunate enough to be there.
