Further to buying an old s/h 6x42 scope on here.
I emailed Swarovski CS and asked if I could buy a replacement rubber eye cup?
I thought you would all like to see the reply from Swarovski.

Hello

thanks for the photos. Our UK branch will send you this cup free of charge after New Year.
Clean the ocular with alcohol and glue the rubber with some dots of LOCTITE.
Your NOVA was made in 1986.
There is no more warranty (30 years), but charged repairs are still effected

Our local.shop told me a tale.about an old scope belonging to a customer that he had had since he was a lad had gone yellowy they sent it back with a hope they could at least give it a few more years life to.see this fellas stalking career out it came back.like new and for the grand cost of postage when I was.looking at a new.scope.for the new rifle previously owning Zeiss this tale was relayed to me as testament to there second to none service his exact words were Steve i wish every supplier we had was as good as swaro my life would be easy none of the others compare according to him needless to say I now own swarovski and don't regret it its awesome

Can you date a Swarovski from the serial number?

Their customer service is outstanding, my bins have been repaired 3 times , came back like new no charge.

I thought pretty much all the premium brands had dropped to 10 yrs. I know Leupold and Vortex have lifetime guarantee and Meopta still have 30 yrs. Might be worth checking the small print. I think that they now guarantee that they will have spare parts for 30 yrs.

My RF monocular had to go in the bin. Button collapsed internally and couldn’t be fixed. In total fairness they sent a lengthy letter explaining why with a pen, cap, and neck tube thingy.

Despite this I got some vortex RF binos. Lifetime no quibble warranty including electronic components. Once bitten and all that....

I gave my swaro monocular to an electronics bloke and he did a bodge. Doesn't look pretty but works. Unfortunately as electronics get smaller then parts go obsolete within a few years so in maybe 10 years you will probably not be able to get replacement electronic components. But of course if you know an electronics whizz then you will be ok.

Yes they’re excellent, Fury HD from Malmos. Malmos said they sell out quickly, mostly to keepers. I would say optically as good as my old SLC’s, if there is a difference is marginal. Had pings out to 2000yds, maybe a bit further. The warranty swung it for me!
