I currently run Swaro 8.5x42 EL and has the idea to upgrade change to a set of Swaro Pure 10x32

Any real time experiences/ insights into whether its worth the change?

I have pondered upgrading my 8x32ELs to pures. I noted the birding tests mention glare issues.

We’ve 2 pairs of them (10/32); they’d be about the last thing I’d willingly give up. They are a sheer joy to use, carry, handle and experience. Worth their relative lack of weight 100%. Lady Ff has the orange set. All my various optics are top drawer stuff, but even she remarked how great they are, before Santa came with her new Swaro ‘necklace’.

As much as I like the 8.5/42 EL which are indeed among the best of the best, I feel the NL Pure are next level. Wide field of view, unparalleled resolution, almost unnoticeable when carrying in the field — absolutely love ‘em. Try to get a look through and handle them, you’ll find out why we’ve a pair apiece.

Thank you everyone for your experiences.
I'll go looking at the 8x32 and 10x32, and take along with EL bins for sight comparison

I have the 10x42 having owned the el’s, the pures are unbelievable on a different level to anything else in my opinion

I upgraded my EL 8.5x42 to NL 10x42 last year just for a change of my older binos for newer one. NLs are just a little bit better in every way.
NL is quite compact, almost similar size as EL 8x32 but if you want something smaller with similar optical quality have a look at Leica Noctivid as well if you can stand the black colour.

I went for leica noctovid after looking through the NL pures..
I found the leica are a tad heavier but the picture they give seems more 'real' , I also tested them against the zeiss sf.
You would definitely be getting an optical upgrade from el to NL although I still think the el takes some beating in the handling, especially as the NL has a larger and more protruding focus wheel (i sold my zeiss ht bins ages ago as the larger wheel meant more fiddling to focus after removal from a bino harness).
Best to go try some and see for yourself if you think the expense is worth it.

Never heard of it, but like most glass manufacturers it will be a ploy to make you part with harder money you don’t need to
