Good Morning
I have a Swarovski Z6i 2-12 x 50 and, as I am retiring from stalking I will be selling it in due course
Can anyone advise me how I work out its generation type I have worked out its age using Swarovski's formula as 2010 but I know that I will be questioned as to the generation
An idea on its resale value would be helpful. EDIT - just noticed a similar model. for sale here
Many Thanks
Ed

I would say around the £1000 mark but it is a hard market at the moment as nobody has any money and there is so much competition with glass these days.

There is the same scope for sale in classifieds at the moment for £1000 and it has not been snapped up, so that is probably a good guide.

I cannot help with the generation type but good luck with whatever comes after your retirement from hunting.

Yes it's mine and I thought around the 1k mark due to a few having been sold recently with the BT for the 1300 mark so hence my reckoning of 1k with standard turret on top. May have to rethink if it doesn't move but as said, not a lot of money around ATM with crazy prices on utilities and essentials.
Jimmy.

The Swarovski Z6i 2-12x50 is the second generation of Swarovski's Z6i line of riflescopes. It was first introduced in 2007 and updated in 2013. email Swarovski the S/N and they will give you all you need it will be probably out of warranty now.
A few pictures will always help to get a buyer and or a realistic S/H value.
If you price to sell then it will do exactly that, some people think their kit is worth way to much and over price it and it just does not sell, proof look at the for sale section ie scopes but especially the semi custom rifles:oops:

I think it is a fair price but folk are just broke at the moment and looking to save money rather than spend it. There is a definite trend in the classifieds for stuff to hang around at the moment when it would previously have sold quick.

I had a fly rod and reel up for sale for £50 but no bites despite me thinking it was a good price. I put it on ebay in an auction and it went for £88.

I reckon you might get a bite on ebay for it.

I’ve recently bought the same scope as you are selling in Jan 23, as above it will be a Gen 1. I paid £1150 for it which I think was reasonable. It came with objective and eyepiece flip up Swaro covers. The Swarovski warranty on these is 30 years. (Less on newer modes) so it still has 15 years of Swarovski warranty (they guarantee to hold parts to repair until the end of the warranty period). I’ve use it for a pair of second hand binoculars and it was rock solid!

I think £1000 is a decent price, it depends how urgently you wanted to sell? I don’t think it will depreciate much in the next year, just depends what your cash flow is likely to be and whether you need it! If I hadn’t bought one, I’d jump at £1000 for one!

Can you confirm that there is 30 yrs warranty as I have new and an older z6's and was informed they only had 10yrs, having BT and non I would only pay top dollar for BT equipped scopes. I appreciate the new prices have escalated but 5-7 yrs back they were fairly good value and that would reflect on price S/H.

You may be right! The binoculars I bought definitely did. Just found this on Swarovski website.
