We don’t really understand this comment? It says we’re a trade member on our post/profile already… so obviously anything we post is a dealer sale… what further distinction is needed?

Genuine question - what’s the issue with private and dealer sales being mixed?

Or do you mean you would prefer a new/used distinction?

the forum should have a sales section for traders and a sales section for private sellers, if any one wants to buy from trades they can go on the traders web site not a forum for members by members.

Ah, understand - the issue with relying on web visitors for us traders is we’re unable to do much in the way of advertising through usual means due to the restrictions put on us by platforms such as google ads etc - due to being in the “arms trade” we are literally forbidden from most forms of paid advertising that would drive traffic to our websites.

If the general consensus was that dealer adverts shouldn’t be allowed then admin would probably split it - but as it seems most members are happy to either use or ignore dealer/trade adverts we’ll continue to use this service.

We have so far had several new customers walk into our shop as a result of SD adverts, and several sales from classifieds. These are challenging times for the gun trade, and as we are all part of the same community we hope that we will be able to continue to use SD.

well, Emmett&Stone i think its fine the way it is.
I dont understand ashrays comment, it’s a privately owned forum to be run as the owners wish, and I for one am very happy they can be bothered to run it.
It’s very easy to use the ignore button and even easier to skip past some thing not relevant to you.

I to don’t really understand what’s wrong with the type of sales thread.. it says on the header what is being advertised, if I was looking for some Talley rings or if I am in the future, I’ll know who to get in touch with. I guess if you’re not after some mounts why would you invest your time to look at the ad?
