Tarnished carbon steel blade?

Is there any way to clean a tarnished carbon blade back to its original sheen? Thought the blade was dry.....clearly it wasn't so it is now marked, I'm not overly fussed but if there is a way of polishing it back I would like to do the knife justice.

Hi mate, Your blade will polish back perfectly with the aid of a normal pedestal grinder buffing wheel, assuming it is a plain silver finish you are after. I am not far from Sudbury and have such a wheel if you need a hand. Alternately a little fine valve grinding paste and a cloth should do the job by hand.

Thanks Steve, much appreciated, and thanks for the offer, but if it that simple I should be able to sort it......was a bit gutted when I realised it had got stained, it'd be great to get it looking smart again!
