Teague chokes and steel

Teague are keen to advise no more than quarter choke. I believe they have seen chokes being pushed out of shape by steel shot, requiring specialist removal.

well i have shot half tegue using steel in 3 guns no issue at all. However all guns where built for 3 1/2" steel . I would not put HP steel through most guns that only had standard lead proof . I think someone has their wires crossed with std proof and HP proof .

I have my old Winchester 101 with Teague 1/2 choke in both barrels. I've put Eley Pro Eco steel number 3 ( standard steel ) through with no issues at all.

The 1/4 choke rule from them is for HP, otherwise 1/2 is fine for standard.

I can only repeat what I was told directly by Teague.

Of course, you're right,and I'm wrong, whatever.
To the OP, call Teague.
No need for that attitude , been all over the website and nothing even looked at their special thin wall chokes . All guns 12 more and under steel proof or not can create a pressure bulge if you use very large steel shot BBB and over through them without back boring . but hey it doesn't state that either

Does anyone use steel shot in a teague modified choke thanks
Yes , I have shot steel 32 gr 4's through 5/8 and 3/8 chokes in my Winchester Mod. 23 , hit some ,missed some mallards, no problems . It is a 3" Magnum steel shot proofed wildfowling gun though. Cheers Neil 👍
