Hi All,
I'm testing the water here just now as an enquiry last year didn't work out.
I currently have a yellow lab (bitch) that I use for my forest stalking, roe, red and sika. She has been with me since she was a pup and turned 9 last Thursday.
As a deer dog she has been faultless and has found many deer in dense Sitka plantations/ clearfells and restocks that could otherwise have taken hours of crawling and raking about to find. I simply wouldn't go out without her.
In the past I have had times where an older dog has passed and I have been "dogless" for spells and I'd rather not have that again, so to that end I am considering another lab (yellow or red) to bring on alongside her.
Last year I got in touch with her breeder to enquire if he had any pups due in the coming months. Unfortunately he hadn't and a few years prior to that, he had to have her mother and sister both speyed (spelling) and he had lost the line he had going back 4 generations If I mind right.
I'll be honest in that I think you get out of a dog what you put in, and given the right approach to training and conditioning to the work they do I can have a dog that will serve me as well as my current bitch is. Her sires side had a lot of FT winners on it and I'm sure he will have sired a good few dogs.
So I'll put her dam and sire names on here and if anyone has dogs descended from these lines it would be interesting to hear from you or links to others.
Sire was FT CH Copperbirch Paddy of Leadburn.
Dam was Mustelidae Pianissimo.
My bitch was bred by a chap from near Allanton, not far from Chirnside.
I know what I am looking for is a bit of a long shot but its worth a try.
If it helps I can try and stick the pedigree up on another page.
Many Thanks in advance.
A.M.
