Hello all, besides the 7x57, i shall also be starting up 2 loads for the 6.5x57.

Rifle: Mauser 98 build, with a 24inch barrel from Schultz&Larsen.
Primers: RWS LF
Cases: Once fired PPU
Powder: Vihtavouri N150
Projectiles: a. 100 grn fox classic hunter and b. Hornady cx 120 grn

I suspect the load and velocities will end up quite close to those one sees in modern 6.5x55s, but we'll see. Anyone interested in this thread and especially those of you who have experience with the 6.5 x57 are of course most welcome to contribute ,-)

I also am about to reload for 6.5x57 (Blaser 850) awaiting reloading dies -using primarily for Red Deer and Fallow, am looking at the 143gr ELD-X and the Nosler 140gr ballistic tip , I have a small supply of Sellior and Belliot 131gr SP and some roll your owns with Swift Scirroco 130gr BTS . Powder will be ADI AR 2217 or AR2209
The reds over here in NZ are quite nuggety buggers with some wapiti blood thrown in ,they tend to be solid.
