Messy? I'm afraid you've lost me there.
Session = a bit of a booze up, usually accompanied by spontaneous live music. Are there other definitions?
The "Mixy"...guaranteed to render at least one person immobile in a puddle of their own spew.I am pretty sure we used to do this as youngsters raiding our parents drinks cabinets before going to a party.
It did the job it was intended to do, but I cannot ever remember it being particularly pleasant....

I agree, once you've bought it, it's yours to do with what you will. All the great blends were and are made by folk mixing stuff up and some blends are better than some malts. I appreciate it is all down to personal taste.
Now people understand why Glen Miller is still missing…Mostly I have found "bit of a session" is at best an understatement.
The following morning it usually looks as if Ghengis Khan's horsemen have galloped through...
…And the ones who can’t obtain decent Sherry casks use caramel ‘etc’ for their colour, and/or make a virtue of their alternative barrel type…Blended Scotch Whisky is at best only 40% Whisky (at worst only 15%) the rest is a grain spirit (ie Gin without the herbs ...). best avoided IMHO.
Some need water, I put a W on the bottle if I think it helps, most get too 'bright' with water (IMO)
I know ... I couldn't believe it when he suggested it .... adding a mixer ... good lord, tis enough to make a grown man cry![]()
HOLD BLOODY ON!

Getting a wee tour of Johnny Walkers vault soon. Lots of super rare ones to figure out how to steal lol
This. And that's why I seldom buy whisky. I used to get this in France but it seems it is no longer made. Whisky the colour of straw...like what it ought to be. I don't want so much caramel in my dram that looks as if someone dropped a Curly Whirly into the bottle when it was racked in the optic..…And the ones who can’t obtain decent Sherry casks use caramel ‘etc’ for their colour, and/or make a virtue of their alternative barrel type…

I’ve already done that tour with my lads , it was great. You'll love that tour if your a fan of blended scotch ... after the caberet they have a cocktail bar where they mix their grain/blended whiskies with all sorts of non-alcoholic juices, carbonated chemical soups and fluids.
If you wear your tartan trousers and a LOUD shirt you'll fit right in.

Sounds fun I mean all single malts are blends really right (unless single cask)
