The Blaser R93

just fitted a PES T12 for some long range stuff on the .243 - eliminated muzzle flip totally.

If you got a bayonet for the end you wouldn't need to load it, just sit up a high seat and stab them when they walked past :-D

One thing I've noticed about my R93 is that no matter what ammo I put into it I get 1 inch groups at 100 yards. Now, the reticule of my scope covers 1 inch at 100 yards so I doubt I'm going to do any better than that but it is well possible that the rifle could do better.

Often you hear people saying that only one type of ammo will shoot in their rifle, or one weight of bullet, or one powder. I've shot everything from 110 grain V-MAX to 165 grain BT. I'm just starting reloading and the reloads, so far, go just as well as the factory stuff.

I have also found that if I buy 150 grain ammo it will shot to the same point of impact as the 150 grain ammo the rifle was zeroed with, at least to within less than the resolution of the clicks on the scope and with the 3 types I've tried so far.

Like many I was a bit wary of that bolt and the "over engineering" but now that I've been using one for a while I'm glad I went with the R93. I don't like the looks of it at all as I wanted a blued rifle with wood and ended up with a black plastic thing but after 5 hours in the rain last Wednesday I was glad not to have a wooden rifle.

I should think so its about 6ft long now ;)

Hi Wayne,

looks can be decieving - its actually the same length as it was with a T8, and 2 1/2" longer that with the T4. its all down to a personal preference, length or girth. remember, i've seen your .375 moderator, now that is a whopper

the .308 still wears the T4 and is shooting very well, even if its previous owned did treat it like sh!t and even dropped it (just read that old post! ).

the .243 shoots same poi with the T4 or the pes with the 70gn ballistic tips and the 85gn bthp's so i have the choice of a short carry gun or a longer sniper gun, just need to get that nightforce on it and i'll be able to try for some longer ranges, wopped a 250m charlie and a 350m rook with it at the weekend with the 8x56 but i'm looking to get out a bit further. i know you always take the p!ss out of my chip shots.

Bucksden, may I ask how you mount your bipod to your stock please. I was under the impression that the Offroad stock forend was not considered to be stiff enough to allow mounting of a bipod without the barrel coming into contact with the stock. You obviously don't have a problem.
