*I also got the impression that he gave up trying after a bit. Probably a combination of realising he was both out of his depth and not being paid enough for the work involved!
The translator did such a poor job* that you really need to know a fair bit about how guns work already (or be fond of word puzzles) to follow much of the text, but it is attractively illustrated and pretty comprehensive.
All the same, if I didn't already have a copy, I'd be reaching for the PM button right now.

49,95 € it costs in the original German version over here so a good price IMO, I have the original of "Wiederladen für Jäger" that was an interesting read.
