THE PRETEND KEEPER

Not my shoot but a commercial

I was asking if I could clear some rabbits from freshly drilled cover on a commercial pheasant and partridge shoot, well, I do like a bit of bunny bashing so had a run up tonight, met the head keeper to find out where I was going, just the cover today and Monday and then whenever I want after they have been battered here, shot 41, was asked to keep a dozen for some traps and to remove the rest off the fields, this is a lovely place and I think it will give me some good rabbit shooting over the summer looking at what was about on the fields on the way to the cover 👍

Been watching this moorhens nest on the shoot for a couple of weeks now, must be due for hatching. Also a few vermin trapped and shot, quite a few rabbits about but only taking them for the pot as they aren’t causing any damage on this land.

Cheers Mr Evans, it’s a lovely place, it’s crazy that there’s places like this and 99% of people that live in the towns don’t know it there, what am I saying that’s a good thing not a crazy thing 😁👍

Isnt that the truth

I was doing the woodcock survey with the BTO last night and my "square" happened to be on the road in to our local "nature" reserve

I never saw or heard a woodcock - but it was interesting to watch the people fly in and out - radios blaring with not even a look up and no appreciation of anything around them
