THE PRETEND KEEPER

Just in- a dozen rats off the feeders - happy days

Your poults look very well on Stav - how old are they ?
I believe they are between 9 and 10 weeks, they seem strong, hopefully they’ll continue to grow fast as they will be 22 weeks around the first shoot day

Fair play - unusual to get poults quite that old but yes they look very good
They are not too much older than the 8 weeks when they usually go in, they were between 8 and 9 weeks when they went in because I had to put him back a few days, they have been in a week now

They always come out the pen here, you just have to spend the first week too 10 days walking them back as much as you can, they were all over this morning, so I walked them back, got a few of the members to come up tonight to give me a hand and there was half a dozen in the cow field, so we went to the pen and it was full of them 🤷🏻‍♂️

Happy with that so I’m just having a call for an hour or so 👍IMG_0492.webp

Got mine today. Went in early this morning. Was up there tonight. First pen very quiet all looking good. Second pen 3 dead with buzzards flying above pen. Frustrating few weeks ahead in that wood by the looks of it

Unusual... Left-hand bolt but firing off the right shoulder.. I'm a lefty 90% of the time with a rifle but always have right-handed bolts :norty:

Edit; I've been out for three hours looking all around ours in the Gator, never spotted a fox, just one badger having a gambol on the fringes of the estate.

It’s my rifle, my mate shoots right, I shoot lefty and my CF rifles are all left handed but my rimmys are all right handed

See anything?
Didn’t see any foxes, shot a small roe buck last night ( well, my mate did ) I was convinced I seen a munty through the thermal, by the shape of it and the way it was moving, I can’t think of anything else it could of been (maybe a big cat 😂 you know )

Feeding today and they are getting through some feed, as soon as they hear the bike they are coming to the feeders, I’m off to London tomorrow for a couple of days so I’ve left instructions for one of the members, fingers crossed he follows them 🤞IMG_0514.webpIMG_0517.webp

Popped out this afternoon checking for wheat stubbles, the field I wanted to shoot was just starting to be cut so I found another field at the back of the farm in the gusty wind.
Wasn't expecting much as birds wouldn't decoy just skirting the pattern which called for testing shooting at 40 to 50 yds.
Ended on 40 so happy with that 😁
