THE PRETEND KEEPER

Went down to the shoot on Saturday to put some rides and flushing points into the "game strips".what they are is an acre of bullrush and about 3 acres of mixed reeds and pampas grass.
We don't cut the bit roll them with a home made roller behind the quad.
The weather was red hot and thirsty work but I can't complain as the strips as a freebie 😆.

Thanks, I got fed up last year feeding out of a bucket with a homemade scoop as I drove around.
The seed spinner cost £125, I never fabricated the metal bracket, Mark who works on the farm did that in his spare time for us... he loves to over-engineer everything :)

Hhahaha
That sounds like me - carrying bag after bag about

May i ask where the spinner came from - looks a great investment for that money

Looks like Amazon has a similar thing for sale for £132.
Google "Feed, Seed, Fertilizer spreader", I'm sure ours came from a place in Suffolk as I was almost tempted to drive over for a look before I bought it.

Feeding early this morning and with it being a nice sunny morning they were off roost and out for a bit of sun on their backs, forestry have finished smashing the place up and they are not going around my pen now, now that forestry have finished smashing the woods up it time for the deer to start smashing up my feedersIMG_0679.webpIMG_0680.webpIMG_0681.webpIMG_0682.webp

Blasted deer... I did see a jolly good trick used by another keeper last season, four stout Hazel stakes knocked into the ground with a double Hazel rail around the sides and the feeder in the middle, a similar idea to yours, he suffered with Roe & Muntjac raiding his blue barrels. They looked rustic & natural.

A puncture in the "Keepers" Gator this morning .. so I had to use the "New Mule", a little bit of luxury with the doors, and very handy in that the screen opens enough to maybe shoot a few foxes from the comfort of the cab this winter, I think I shall be using it more than I thought :-|.
