THE PRETEND KEEPER

I know your pain Stav, our Gator packed up for a few days last year, I ended up using my own van to try and feed every day.... It makes you appreciate the right tool when you get it back 👍

Amen to this ! I have 2 discos that do the job
Managed to break both last year
I sell a few vans and cars so we had a Dacia duster on the pitch - i took it and within 100 yards had pulled the bumper off !

Bugger....
We are spoilt now, we have the Gator and a new Mule if we need it, although it's rubbish compared to the Gator buggy, poor turning circle and it has doors , it's three seats wide as well, so the guvnor can get his kids in it . Still much better than my Transporter van :)

Transporter van takes some beating

So the day went pretty well considering the summer weather and it being the first day, it was nice to see the members again and everyone seemed to have a good day, no big bag but around 40 is a good number for the first day, even if a few put their guns up to some very questionable birds after been told about shooting low birds, but it’s their shoot too so it’s up to them. I also had a young lass shooting as a guest today, first time she’s shot driven game and it was the first drive when a cracking hen broke cover and cleanly taken by the young lady, she was over the moon 👍 also had a cracking fallow buck come out of the first drive, I’ve never seen him before, now we’ve stirred them up a bit the next day should see them flying with more confidence and at a greater height 🤞IMG_0966.jpegIMG_0967.jpegIMG_0970.jpeg86f4cf12-c976-4336-90bb-6b555ab7e9d5.webp

Well done mate.
That buck looked grand.

That lovely lady reminds me of the time us beaters had to cram into the lwb landy to get to the next drive.
Well there was this young lady and there was no room so I invited her to sit no my knees and she did!
After a few seconds of silence and everyone smiling and giggling I said "I've not had one on top for ages" and that was it, everyone just roared with laughter.
When we disembarked and in front of everyone I asked the lady if it was possible we could do that again next week?
It was taken in good fun and we had a hug at the end of the day.
Boney arse though Stav, bloody hurt after that rough forest track!🥺

Had my first day yesterday. Cracking day eldest boy shot his first driven pheasant. But Best of all my youngest who is 11 took his 18 month old springer for first time. They both worked fantastic. 20241026_091108.webp
Even spread of birds for the guns and some great food and drink
