The Stalking Exchange

Having been away stalking for a week with clients, I have just seen this on the site. I think JAYB has hit the nail on the head so to speak. Also much depends on the quality of the exchange between people, I can see some issues there if it does not live up to the expectations of people arriving at a place and its not as described.

Further more all those professional stalkers would not be in a position to give or swap too much as it is giving away business, and we have bills to pay the same as everyone else.
I also think we do quite well already with the membership on here being very generous with helping each other out. Due to the generosity of another member there is a days stalking up for grabs at the moment with me.

You had BUTTER?, We had to make do with drippi'n mate!:D

Lucky sod, we only had "drippin" twice a year when we could afford beef. We did keep our own pig, and the old girl made the butter with Jersey milk which I purloined from the farm where I used to milk 40 cows before school each morning. And No we did not live in a paper bag, but the cottage wasn't a lot better.

Thanks for all your replies and comments

Couple of things to clarify from some of the replies

I hadn't seen this limited to supporters, would be open to all
You wouldn't have to swap for something of equal value, you put you stalk(s) in and build up credits You swap with the exchange not necessarily with the person you stalk with
For sure people are people and there might be some early abuse but i had seen it self regulating - if someone has a poor experience they feed back on it and no one else will take up that offer with that person again. I know tough on that person but with the feed back (like in eBay) it would swiftly settle down to serious offers
I hadn't seen a lot of admin time - simply the software set up then we virtually run it ourselves

But I take the various points made and will happily strangle it at birth and stick with informal swapping and offering the odd free stalk

Simple swapping is imo probably the best of all.

From what I have found many are willing to talk it but not walk it.

The SD membership of my own has resulted in hunting Sika in Ireland and Moose in Sweden (reciprocal)
I have been elsewhere but not through the SD.
I have to say that I have offered swap hunting to many and not all in the UK but there haven't been any takers except from the Countries above and they actually found me.
Standard swap hunting with absolutely no guarantees of monster stags, you will see deer though BUT I guarantee you will have adventure lol!

I have been swapping stalking for about 10 years but you do have to take the rough with the smooth. I have shot boar and mouflon straight away. 2 years to get a chamois and have been moose hunting 4 years but no shot. But to me that's just hunting no guarantees, just a load of experience of different cultures, ways and food.
