When the o-ring on my bottle has had it's day, i can't get the bottle to seal on the gun. Try a new o-ring and put a smear of engine oil around it(both sides) and push it down against the collar of the bottle. Once you start screwing the bottle on don't stop or turn the opposite way, just keep going till it's done up. If the o-ring is not lubricated it tends to stick to the bottle or inlet and stretches and then gets pinched causing it not to seal.

A friend had a similar issue and I'm sure he just hadn't tightened the bottle enough.
ATB.

Thanks smellydog, will have another look but do blame self as put away with bottle full for 18 months and today empty so filled screwd bottle into rifle now constant loud hissing so unscrewed. Theoben mfr 20 cal fac worrying as just a thread on bottle and never seen a ring🙂

Thanks all for help and suggestions have made contact with kev and all soon will be good unless you are a rabbit or member of crow family 🙂. Edit. But not a chough naturally.

The MFR has a different valve to the Rapid mk2, so you can unscrew the bottle without burping it. if you take the Bottle off then look down into the regulator, you will see a small o ring on there, that is normally the one to give trouble, change that and the one on the bottle and that should sort it. O ring kits are available from Bagnall and Kirkwoods

Use a toothpick to remove o ring don't be tempted to do it with a metal pick, otherwise it will leak forever.

Thanks kevgun, have deduced as am thick, that air is leaking loudly from small hole on regulator close to block, also (eeekk) have never seen a o ring on bottle since owning it but could have lost it. Duh. Thanks for info on rings from bagnalls as just up road.👍

OK, if it's coming from the small hole in the reg body then the regulator seal require replacing, which is also easy enough.
