Thermal monocular

I'm currently using a Axion2 XG35 which I like for it's size but I now find myself looking for a thermal with a range finder (I never thought I'd say that). What can people recommend that is of similar size and perhaps a better performance and will be in fashion for at least the next two years? When I expect I will probably want to upgrade again!
It will have multiple uses, from deer control, fox control, spotting partridges at night and watching birds come off roost, so it needs to be a compact unit with a wide angle and tough.

I bought one of these as a backup thermal to my Telos XP50 LRF on the basis of this recommendation and for the price, its performance is outstanding. It’s not as nice as a Pulsar but it works :thumb: And is an absolute bargain for the spec which is almost identical to the Telos!

Pulsar XG35 LRF or XQ35 LRF

I’d certainly recommend you taking a look at the ATN BlazeHunter’s. I’ve had a bit of time to get to know mine and thoroughly impressed. Detection is incredible and anything living stands out like a beacon. If you can’t see anything it’s either behind solid cover or it’s not there. I’ve not been gentle with mine and feel very confident with the build quality. ATN also have a good warranty and UK support.

The only thing I’d say about my 50mm lense version vs the 35mm is that the lense protrudes out wide of the body making it difficult to stow in a pouch or pocket. It also doubles as the focus ring and this can move quite easily when pulling in and out a pocket. That’s the only negative I can find to be honest. Highly recommend!

Hello, As above, 2 people i know have the 35mm Version and well pleased,

As above the new HIK 2.0 units are game changers with one hand focus and LRF, plus shutterless tech. Buy one of them. I will be swapping my pulsar XP pro for one.

The new DNT hound available soon. It’s unique on the market as along with LRF it has ballistics that you can use to dial your elevation on your day scope. Also very compact, similar size to the nocpix lumi.
