Thermion Recoil-Activated Video

Hi - the Pulsar brochures include the term “recoil activated video” when talking about the unit’s video and still recording capabilities but there is nothing in either the quick start or full instruction manual to describe how you access this functionality. Anyone know how this works?

It's part of the video activation on the Trail, I assume it's the same on the Thermion. Press the button that activates the video/camera, and you should see a "bullet" come up on the screen.

However, do some testing, I decided to try it on my Trail, and got nothing on a recent boar trip. VERY disappointing, and in future, I'll just turn the video on.

That's with a 7x64 running circa 4000j !

My Thermion doesn't have the video + bullet (recoil activated) recording icon or function (despite the Pulsar blurb) and it also doesn't have the pause recording function available on the Trail. Why this may be, I have no idea, and maybe a future firmware update will fix it, but for now it's a bit disappointing in what is otherwise a brilliant bit of kit. As regards recoil-activated recording in the Trail. Used on a .204 Ruger, it worked about 2/3 of the time. Perhaps that unreliability is why Pulsar have dropped it from the Thermion. I'd like to see them reinstate it c/w a variable sensitivity control when they fix the Thermion firmware.

PSB the response from Pulsar:

Hello,

Thank you for your enquiry and interest in Pulsar.

Thermion riflescopes do not have recoil activated video feature now.

But we plan to add it in the future with a new firmware.

Thank you for understanding.
