These weschenfelder hard plastic hog skin thing

Am I missing a trick with these new hard plastic tubes you get hog skins on from Weschenfelder?

They used to come on soft plastic and I could get it straight onto my nozzle. Now I have to shear the entire thing off and back onto the nozzle.

Emailed Weschenfelder and they didn't really see an issue.

Besides that they came with a load of water in the bag.

Soak overnight and then try ? I always take off the tube or tapes to flush internaly the casings and half them so the strings of sausages are not to heavy to hang .

Why have you got the skin inside the nozzle ?

Trying to figure out how to get it on in one go - unsuccessfully.

These hard plastic tubes won't fit around the steel nozzle, too similar in size and rigid. That's how the soft ones used to work.

Yes, but your pics show that you've put the end of the skin inside the end of the steel nozzle.
Why would you do that?

I think the bit you mean is the hard plastic tube not skin. Was trying to get the hard plastic tube inside the nozzle to try and slide the skin off and onto nozzle in one go.

This is the bit that @Nimrod1960 and myself are referring to.
Just looks like skin inside the nozzle, not hard plastic tube.

They used to come on flexible tape where you just put the steel nozzle through it and then slide it all off.

But the rigid plastic tubes are too similar in size to the steel nozzle to do that.

Won't dock correctly 🧐

No the bit you circled is hard plastic tube that I bent into the nozzle
Ok.
I think I'd just slide the whole lot (or whatever amount you want to use) off the tube into a bowl of water, and then feed it manually from the bowl onto the nozzle. Keep the nozzle wet while doing it.

Yeah that's pretty much what I did. Just a shame as the ones on flexible tape are so much more convenient.

The plastic tube that holds the skin goes over the end of the nozzle not inside and you slide the skin onto the nozzle, Or at least that's how I done it last week

Yes, that's the correct way.
But according to the OP, the diameter of the plastic tube is such that it's too small to do that. He must have a fat nozzle!
