They had to turn up at some point!

I did manage 3 bucks early on in the season but it then turned into the "Does&Fawn" show which is nice to watch also learning which routes the lead does take when they make a move.
The only decent tree for my high seat will work out well but at the moment it is just a good viewing platform as just like this evening the deer were shot off sticks as I watched them leave the neighbouring fields then moved down hoping they would pop out for a feed later on.
Wind was perfect also a steady trickle of pheasants crossed from land behind me heading for their roost, one or two had a scrap but all in all it took me back to the little shoot I ran for 3 year pre covid!
The thermal spotter pinged some movement which always gets me going as you just never know! as per the title they turned up (well two) I wasn't sure if they were going to cross the field as has happened a number of times with the does, but these 2 put their heads down for a feed, that was fine but both front on so just wait Tim!

No cull plan or gene pool shooting just put deer on the deck was what I agreed with the owner from day one of getting the nod to go, the .270 had come out semi retirement as the last 2 seasons the .243 has been in the shoulder quite a lot.
First one took a bit of a dash with his mate going in the same direction but he pulled up then walked back to look at his fallen friend which was a mistake, nice and early I said to myself but the nights are drawing in fast so it ended up in the usual HD lamp recovery!
After a field gralloch I dogged the pair on thinking what will happen with them as I launch them down the bank I had scrambled up earlier lol
Never been one not to try things as you can only improve from it, so after they stayed on the short ride down the ditch then why not get the pair up on the hoist!
40/38 kg dressed happy spaniel's running around with a choice of legs from the pile.

Tim you had to do it show of what the skateboard can carry and the hoist can lift two fallow at once.
Now sit back and enjoy the remarks

Nicely done Tim. I was wondering when we would see some more fallow from you as it seemed to be a bit of a slow start :) 👍

Ta v much, lots there but does, also it is a small plot and they learn fast, last season more were shot the other end but this year they are pining the lower field camera. You can easy mess up a bit of ground and it is still September ;)

Was only pulling your leg Tim. Always the way when you see big groups and either all females or 1 buck or pricket. Come 1st Nov all the does will decide to hide as well...or come out after legal light...crafty devils :)

Saw a stunning fallow buck last night...wrong side of the fence of course...he headed off into the woods happily grunting away.....
