Third party insurance for Canadian and Portuguese residents shooting in the UK

Hello everyone and particularly anyone who lives overseas and has visited the UK to shoot. I have two friends coming over later this month respectively from Canada and Portugal to join a shoot. They can't buy any of the UK based insurance packages for this as they assume UK residency. Does anyone have any idea what providers of appropriate insurance packages there may be in Canada or Portugal? I have no idea what to tell them.

Thanks!

Unless things have changed, when I used to guide I contacted SACS and they provided insurance for overseas clients.
But that was some time ago.
Cheers

It's what we used to do for overseas clients, but in a roundabout way - sign them up for membership of your preferred UK shooting organisation and they qualify for the benefits of membership including UK shooting insurance. Most of them quite enjoyed having the other trinkets such as badges, stickers, etc. that come with it. Check T&Cs obviously.

The Scottish gamekeeper s association might do insurance which might suit.

They used to sell it by the day, dunno if NGO does the same?

If they're on organised shoot/stalk I'd ask the organiser, most professionals will have insurance themselves to cover guests

Thanks everyone. SACS helped out, as did BASC to be honest, for a bigger cheque. Although it does make me think that most UK shooters seem not have any insurance at all. I know that in France at least, it's compulsory.
