Just been outside. 9.50pm here near Leicester. Lovely late May evening now the sun has set. Thirty years ago I was at Bisley. Enjoying a Saturday evening at the last Pistol Anno Domini before the Tory handgun ban. Never forget. And to all of those of us that never went to Dunblane, never killed those children, but were simply law abiding sportsmen and women scapegoated by a weak Tory Prime Minister and an ambitious Home Secretary and as under-secretary the vile and fumpish harridan Ann Widdecombe I wish you all a peaceful and pleasant bank holiday weekend whatever shooting sport you now do.

I was there too. I still have my framed 'last' target, fired with my Walther PP in 9mmK- 35/35. But Rook rifles and other sporting rifles have also proved interesting over the years, and even a little pheasant scaring recently.

I'm sure that archery would not have been that much fun...

A few years ago, a certain MP who lives local, came into, my then, Dartmoor local, 12th Century, and was clearly heard to negatively comment on the decor, Antler, working dogs, hunt scenes etc, how she didn’t like that kind of thing. This is when one of the locals sat at the bar, gently put his pint down, turned to her, and in the broadest of Devon/Dartmoor accents gave her some advice “Well maid, may I suggest you fcuk off back to where you come”………Never saw her again! 👍
