For those that may have done this , can you kindly post a picture of the barrel in the stock channel - I am keen to see the gap size - Lite barrel vs Varmint barrel.

Also anyone who has done this - did you have any issues with water ingress / water retention / rust.
I have considered a GRS stock but the gap on those with Lite barrel is huge so not for me. ( I need the adjustable cheekpiece for NV)

The gap to the SV stock is noticeable but I personally sort-of like the look. The barrel is less prone to corrosion with more airflow, as well as much easier to access for drying off, so that’s not a concern at all.

Something does not look right about this picture, is the recoil lug engaged? I have seen plenty T3's being used with the recoil lug not in the slot and the barrelled action angled wrong in the stock. It looks as if you have almost 10mm gap at the front of the stock.

It’s actually easier to dry/clean the underside of the barrel if it sits in a varmint channel.

I thought the same. Barrel looks to be sitting way too high.

Yes, much better. Seen plenty rifles with rusted barrel underside. You need a good gap to get the crud, pine needles and sand out. Best to run an oily rag through after cleaning. No advantage to a narrow gap between barrel and stock. Our smallest barrel channel will take varmint barrels.

Thank you, could you post a 'plan view' so I can see the look from directly above if possible please ?

I bought a t3 super varmint adjustable stock for my t3x lite and it looked like the picture above, I dismissed it as not fitting and went back to my original after seeing the gap at the forend🙈

Yes, the stock is correctly seated and tensioned; it seems that’s just the way it fits on a Lite-contour barrel.

The stock appears to have more clearance underneath than on the sides with the heavier barrel, too:

Very many thanks for taking the time to post additional pictures. It certainly looks better than I thought it would !. I remember being at he shooting show at NAC Stoneleigh when GRS stocks were launched and they had a T3 lite action in one of their stocks and it looked terrible, far bigger gap than the one you have pictured .
