Hard to starboard bosun!
We've been cracking them jokes all day.Hard to starboard bosun!

You have a sparrow hawk on the vessel?View attachment 391975
This is where I am at the moment, further out into the North Atlantic than last time, on board the Akoa Mizu FPSO.
Anyway, this morning when I ventured out (about 07:30 ish), there was a steady stream of Redwings appearing all around the vessel from out of the murky sky. I'm not sure which direction they were travelling in as the vessel is free to rotate about its mooring system and the murky conditions meant that I couldn't get my bearings from a couple of far off platforms.
I've no idea what time this migration started to pass us, but the tail end of the stream was passing us two hours later. Now that's a lot of redwings, and something that I'm sure our resident Sparrowhawk was also thinking, and judging by the leftovers laying about the place I would guess that he's had quite a time of it.
I also noticed a couple of seabirds bobbing out a short distance from the hull and it turns out they are Eiders, been with us for the last couple of days at least. I would have liked to include some pictures but my work camera is total garbage and taking your phone out on site is an early flight home.
More often than not there will be one on an offshore platform. There have been instances of peregrines although I’ve never seen one, I have seen an eagle owl many years ago, probably came across from the continent. You have a sparrow hawk on the vessel?

Ouchie.Took wife to hospital in Waterford as she has been moaning about her little finger since she got kicked by a foal on Monday...,12 hour round trip including op and recovery.
We did go to A&E on Monday but now plated. Did some work from the car but given 6 weeks in a cast I am concerned about her ability to keep her side of the "I cook - you wash up" bargain....no washing up....no food.

I'm a little North of you on the Claire ridge.. Working on the derrick a couple weeks ago, every now and then there was lots of feathers drifting about. After climbing to a location I disturbed a sparrowhawk that was munching his catch! explained where all the feathers were coming fromView attachment 391975

Pipe welding today.
Stainless, 304.What material is that SD, looks a strange colour.
Nesting for a few days ?Glad your day was more productive than mine, I was due off the ship yesterday but the weather was lousy, managed to get off today and then a 5 hour drive home.![]()
Must be the light, it looks a creamy colour to my eyes.Stainless, 304.
Hardly time, I’m back out there on Monday for another 24 days. Due back onshore 18th Dec, but a bit worried because the vessel is extremely susceptible to prolonged weather delays.Nesting for a few days ?
