Trained hunter status reverts to DSC1

As from next month, so I've just heard.
Splitting it made no sense to me, and apparently it hasn't worked very well in practice, so DMQ are reverting to the old system whereby you get your trained hunter status as part of your DSC1 qualification, which then enables you to sign off carcasses and put them into a game dealer.
Good news, imo.

They still do that now by adding the LANTRA course onto it. I know its an optional extra so if you mean they are integrating it back in that way

That would be good too know if that's the case especially if BASC Is one of them? my DSC1 Is just shy of 2 months away, more qualifications at once the better.

Sounds like common sense. Never agreed with the reduction in scope and time on dsc1. The old course was comprehensive and a push time wise even then with the extra days, to cover it all, sim / safety stalk and shoot test. I remember the deer ID section when I did it and plenty needed education. As the benchmark qual for deer, it should be as comprehensive as possible as prob the only training most will do before being set loose with a firearm in the countryside.
