Trijicon in the UK?

Wondering if any of you fellas come across Trijicon rifle scopes on sporting rifles? I never see them mentioned on The SD.

The brand is best known for ACOG and reflex/red dot sights for military application, but it also has a range of riflescopes. Japanese made.

They use tritium reticle illumination, very clever.

I’ve been using a couple of these recently, a 2.5-10x56 with a mildot reticle, and a 2.5-15x56 with ballistic reticle and turrets. I always though x56 would be too cumbersome in a hunting rifle, but that has proven to be nonsense once the right rings were found to mount the scope as low as possible.

The low light performance (as in the very last of the light) with the illuminated centre dot is incredible.

The interesting thing is the “both eyes open” concept that Trijicon promote with the illuminated dot. The Bindon Aiming Concept. I though well, never to old to learn, so me and the wife gave it a go with the Accupoint 2.5-10x56 on the .308. A bit tricky to get the hang of initially due to habit, but after a while it’s automatic. The binocular field of view is a massive improvement, especially shooting offhand when there’s a high probability of two or more shots.

I expect some of you use similar products for driven game shooting. Anyway, something new for me that has been really exciting and worthwhile. Great products.

This one was for sale for a while.

Nice to hear a real life positive review

I've got a 2.5 - 10 x 56 like yours that came on a 300WSM . It was on the rifle when I bought it , I really like it . Actually , I sold the rifle and kept the scope . It's going on a 7mmRM I'll be picking up at the end of the month . Good glass .

I remember then having a presence at the Scottish Game Fair about 5 years ago. I think they had a wee corner on one of the other stands.

I was impressed with the chat and the kit but never seemed to hear of them again

I haven`t met one person that has or has had one. I looked at buying one 10 years ago but bought another brand.

I looked at one on here in 2017 . I would have bought it .
But a reply by the seller to me over it . Annoyed me . He has since deleted his reply to me a while ago.

I have since used one of these in Sweden on boar in daylight and low light and I am impressed with it .

If I needed another scope .would I buy one yes

Yes, it’s unfortunate I deleted that reply as I can’t now recall what I said but suspect it related to a certain frustration with perceived time wasters and/or just one of many failed attempts at K humour. It clearly hacked you off so please accept my apologies

No doubt the post was chopped as part of my thread tidy-up which primarily focused on the allied dialog with the delightful euro-sceptic member Jon Smith who I won’t be apologising to!

They are nice scopes. Had a play with a few. The ones I've seen are the low mag sort compact ones. The fov was very good on them.

I'd say they don't have the refinement of the European Stuff.

They are however bombproof.

It did hack me off as a buyer
As my scopes have to be multi functional and spending £500+ on a scope it has to be right
Apology accepted

100% correct if we are talking quality of glass as to be found in a circa £2K S&B, Zeiss or Swarovski.

If I wasn’t a;- after a traditional steel tubed vintage scope and b;- have little use for mildots and twiddly turrets I wouldn’t be selling what is a competition prize for something approaching half the cost of one if purchased from a shop.

The following picture taken with scope on 20 power and pointing at a ridge tile some 50 yards away is probably of most help to anyone thinking of purchasing one as it a;- shows clearly the subtle tritium illumination and b;- the true size of the dot. The latter being the assurance that fine aiming is achievable and as not readily determinable from any of the manufacturer’s literature as they seem more concerned in depicting the illumination colour choice by way of a very LARGE (green) dot!

@Moray Outfitting , weren't you lads doing something with Trijicon ?
Yes we had them, everyone looked at them but it wasn't a recognised name really. Everyone who used the one on the course rifle raved about it but of course when they went to buy a scope they were pushed to the better known makes. Even though they were more expensive. J

I have the 2.5-10x56. It's great at last light and so far bomb proof. As said before the mildot ret with moa adjustment is it's only failing in my opinion. But not that much of a problem as once zeroed I'm not dialling with it. I've had mine for 10 years and the tritium is still bright.

The half-life of tritium is just over 12 years so display illumination drops accordingly. A well known issue in atomic weapons which need to be re-gassed like air conditioners...
I wonder if the inserts can be replaced?
