Tripod

Looking for advice on a tripod, I am a target shooter who now struggles to shoot prone, currently using a shooting table but it is a real pain humping it to the range and dis-mantling etc. Thinking about trying a tripod with an Arca adapter to fit my Tikka. Main concern is stability as accuracy is key so worried that a tripod is difficult to maintain on target without feeling that you are constantly adjusting set-up. Does anyone use one for shooting that can pass on any advice before i waste money.
Cheers

Hi there
I use manbily carbon fiber tripods, ove got two, one with a saddle clamp and another with a arca clamp, i run airguns, rimfire's and heavy centerfires on them with no issues at all.

Highly recommend them.

This ^^^
I bought a Bog tripod with clamp about a year ago, and I'm really struggling to get the hang of it. Wouldn't want to chance my luck on live quarry with it just yet awhile.
But I'll comfortably and confidently take deer at over 200yds off my home-made quad sticks.

That was my concern that I will feel that I am constantly adjusting position between shots, not ideal at 600 yards, consistency is key.

Do any of them clamp/heads fit directly onto pic rail?

It’s a low tripod, but the principle is the same.

As you can see, even target rifle that weighs 19..5kg unloaded, because it’s weighted correctly, balances easily on the very short legged tripod.

The issue I have is not stability per se, it’s very stable (well, it is low), but that it’s susceptible to my small body movements. Even my heart beat noticeably moves the reticle several MOA at 1000yds, trigger pull even more so.

I wouldn’t try standing behind one for range work, but shooting from a seat should work as well as shooting prone.

is that not rock solid when using a rear bag? due to me having spondylitis I really need to sit up, crap getting old, where did you get your stock weights?

Doesn’t need a rear bag, and you could easily have a sitting height tripod, would work just as well.
I deliberately set mine up slightly high so my neck isn’t too tortured 👍🏻
