TTSSX in 223

Think it’s a twist rate thing you gave to watch out for??I use them in a 22.250 for roe and they are great but I had a lot of trouble getting them to shoot as I have a 1-14” twist and the 50’s need a 1-10” or 1-12” I think so I had to pull the tips out.The 55’s will not shoot at all so that’s a shame but I am that happy with them I am sending my .22.250 away to get re barrelled with a 1-18” twist so it will shoot the 55’s then I will be more than happy taking roe out to 250 yards with it as the 50’s preform fantastic

Thank you for that info my barrel is 1/8 twist so will have no problem stabilising, as long as they expand at 223 velocities I will try them

Hi mate

I worked up a load for the 62gr TTSX in my 1:8.

Found accuracy was good but they do need a long jump! So when the manufacturers say start at 50thou they are not joking lol think mines at about 65 or 70 thou jump.

As for ballistic performance I can't say I've not shot meat with them as they were a bit pricey but I do have a lead free load if I need to switch now.

Admittedly not a .223 but I’m trying to use the fox lead free in my .222. Easy to get up to 3400fps. Just trying to hone accuracy down now.

Excellent thats exactly what I was looking for,you could not have given me better info,I will definitely be buying now.cheers
