UK bbq season...

Dartmoordog ... beautiful set-up. I'm all for a good cook-up at a camp site well away from the sheeple and their noise. All I could hear as I shared a hot lunch with the dog yesterday was birdsong, the odd crackle from the fire, and the occasional passing light aircraft (noisy buggers).

However, I fail to see the point in faffing about with a hundred quids-worth (or more) of grill and a bag of charcoal whilst still within sight of a perfectly usable kitchen.
You can cook food indoors and carry it out to eat in the garden you know :)

Tell that to my 18hr beef briskets.

And if you're in Shropshire at the right time, you're welcome to come and have some.

Know what you mean there BenBhoy, shortly heading out to our little piece of heaven on the edge of Dartmoor to get the fire going, I think it’s Pork chops, smash burgers, perhaps a few sausages. Beers and wine will be chilling in the stream.

The only thing I may slightly disagree with is the location, our little bit of paradise is nicely tucked away in the foothills of Dartmoor, not a soul to be seen or heard. It only three miles from where we live, but it’s great when the beer and wine is in, to just sit by the fire and crash in the tent.View attachment 476310View attachment 476309View attachment 476311
Unmistakeable Quality TNJ ironware ,dmd 👍🏻; got the smithy to make me a second, slightly longer main spike for my setup, still splits on the diagonal, just about a foot longer, for a bit more versatility and more adjustment of separate campfire components. The zebra looks like it’s not the first time it’s been hung over the pit 😆👍🏻

😂😂🤣Yeah those boys, like me, have been around the block Ff. The longer main spike sounds a good idea, but the TNJ is good stuff. 👍

I like that set up, where did you get the stand?

Stunning BBQ by the wife last night - proper surf n turf with juicy rump steak and king prawns, soy-marinated chicken slices and ubiquitous chipolatas - bliss 🤗

So good I forgot to take a picture.............................:coat:
