Ultrasonic brass cleaning

I made the mistake of ordering an ultrasonic cleaner on line.

It is way too small to be of any use to the reloader.

It is just about big enough to put in a pair of wedding rings - which ironically are heavily tarnished...🤔

I have used vibratory media, ultrasonic and now wet pins.

Wet pins all the way.

Buy this, on Amazon I think. You can leave it to settle out and re use it several times. Dilute 20:1

Not ideal, I went 6lt, I'm glad I did as 2lt would have bee too small

Sorry all, just going to ask a follow up question.

I've managed to get a fair few hundred cases cleaned. Just wondering how shiny the outside of the brass should be?

I'm not bothered as the inside seems to be really clean, as well as the outside. It just doesn't seem to look like it's been polished, which obviously it hasn't been.

My initial thoughts are that this is normal for ultra sonic? As it's not like dry or wet media where the brass is being tumbled into something to polish the outside. Just wondering if that's a correct assumption?

Some items, especially dies, lose their finish when ultrasonic cleaned. I mucked up a Hornady die by cleaning it in error.

Allot would depend on what chemical is used, we use a 250ltr cleaner at work, i thought i would pop a mod in it, i cant remember what it was not but it came out all silver, the chemical, plus 80° temp and the help of the ultrasonic cleaner stripped off all the powder coating. Not a huge issue just a rattle can of paint fixed it.
I use doweling and electro cleaner for dies.
