ultrasonic cleaner - problems

No problem with my £20 , 8 year old Aldi one .
Lasted a bit longer than mine then. In general you only get what you pay for, I think that mine cost less than that. It worked to a point, but it wasn't great.
Comparing these to a professional machine is a bit like the difference between a "Smart car" and a Scania. :)

Probably break the next time I use it . 😂

I live in a hard water area so I just use rainwater out of the butt…. decanted carefully to reduce the bubbles although it still gets a de-gaus cycle as the water heats to about 30, 2 jars in the tank, half a teaspoon of citric, couple of drops of w’up liquid and rinshine…

Usually an 8 minute cycle, sometimes a second cycle, then into a sieve, rinse under the tap then into a jug of boiling water and a teaspoon of bicarbonate to neutralise any remaining citric.

Rinse and blow dry with an air gun on the compressor (usually enough to remove any remaining crud in the pockets, then into a Lakeland food dehydrator to dry off.

I’m sure it’s fine if your cleaning bling of the Creedmoor variety.

K

Ive got one of them new fangled Creedmoors , I haven't used it on them as yet , Gramps.
Works on everything else though , probably should buy some SS pins and a wet tumbler for the CM , to stay on trend .

Ditch the US cleaner - had the same issue. Wasted days of my life repeatedly running cycles with god knows which detergent I Googled. Bite the bullet and buy a wet tumbler - bought a Rebel 17 with SS pins and never looked back. Be warned, creating mirror finish brass becomes another hobby/obsession in its own right
Exactly what I found, exactly what I done, and exactly the same results 🤣
