Hi All,
Completely off topic but hoping someone on here might have a clue.
I have an 08 plate Corsa D 1.3CDTI Diesel. 82000 miles and all good.
There's a common issue with these cars where the ECU gets damaged by water ingress due to poor positioning resulting in misfires and rough running. This happened in January and I had the ECU fixed/reconditioned. Since then it's run perfectly.
This afternoon I drove a short journey and, as usual, the car performed flawlessly. A couple of hours later I jumped in to drive to a friends, stuck the key in the ignition to turn it on and an 'F' appeared in the screen, the glow plugs aren't doing anything and the fuel gauge isn't moving. The engine cooling fan went nuts and there was no hint of the starter motor doing anything when trying to turn the engine over.
Definitely seems like an electrical non communication type fault to me, the battery hasn't been run flat and, as said, the car drove perfectly a couple of hours beforehand.
Someone suggested disconnecting the battery for a bit and trying again but that hasn't made any difference.
Before I get it towed to a garage, does anyone have any thoughts?
Going to look at the fuses tomorrow to see if there's anything awry there.
Thanks
