Dead Freelander!

Spend the money to get the fault diagnosed, then make your mind up.
A fuel pump or filter failure is a cheap easy fix.

I had one that just stopped the fuel tank is over the back seat well and needs at least half a tank to be sure it didnt stop

is that true for the freelander 1 i know the 2 is like that and has i think another auxiliary transfer pump to move the fuel between tanks.

last week I spent £1100 on our freelander 2 having it welded, its done 203k we have had it 14 years,
cant think of anything I would swap it for,

It’s a saddle tank and the pump in there just pumps fuel from one side to the other where the outlet is situated.

I had very similar a few years back mine kept cutting out on a journry and then just died. RAC.lad came and told me it was a small electrical relay connection was working loose and stopping the fuel pump working. Squashed it tight and told me to get a new one on, which I dId, no more problems.

Looked up a salvage company 2 miles from home, filled in the online form and sold it for £312.
Phoned next day to see when they’d collect and had a chat with girl on phone.
Basically, if the car’s complete and the cat. is still there they pay the £312.
If no cat. price will go down.
Suits me.
Ken.
