At the range the other day I thought I’d multi task and pay for some bullets I was buying from an SD member.
So while the barrel had a rest I did the PayPal payment as a gift ( Don’t know why ‘cause there was a £0.99 charge) but I left out a number from the email address…..money went to someone with a similar name to intended recipient.
’mailed him and asked for it back but so far no reply.
PayPal said nothing can be done if the guy wants to keep the money.
Need to be more careful and not be a clever Cnut and try and do more than one thing at a time.
Will leave the multi stuff to Wifey in future. .

Glad you can laugh this off Ken, but it would upset me no end to lose my money and pay a transfer charge. PayPal isn't secure compared to a bank credit transfer via FPS.
Since March 2020 the name of the account holder, sort code, and account number have to be exactly right under CoP rules to avoid daft mistakes. It's a free service too.
