Vihtavuori N150 load data for 168gr SMK

We don't always check the manufacturers load data and keep doing what we doing once we checked the data the first time we load the powder.
I only recently noticed by coincidence that the Vihtavuori recently reduced the top load for 168gr SMK by a whole grain.
Just thought I will share this if you load this combination. It must have happened for safety reasons.

New batches can sometimes differ (and lawyers get nervous) so its not uncommon for manufacturers to revise data. In the old days that meant releasing a new manual, nowadays they just update the website.

i have been loading 42gr with the sierra 168gr for many years but have recently bought some new n150 powder so i will have to have a look although 42grs was well below the max of 44.6 grs in my old manual

U have the app from Vhit and they highlight all new data when the app updates the data but not changes in the existing bullets.
Why I thought this is very important because the NRA reloading statement that you load according to the manufacturers recommendations to be able to shoot on MOD ranges. If you, as many people do, load the top load and play with seating depths for a long range shooting then you will get the blame and a ban if anything was to go wrong even though you shot the same load for years.

Hmmm. Viht N140 has been my powder of choice for the .308s for many years - recently I noticed that my once mid-range load had become the new max! Still absolutely fine with no pressure signs and shoots a dream so I imagine the spectre of liability has crept in over the years…
