I applied for 3 visitors permits, 2 were fine but there was an administrative error with the third which took a little fettling so I posted them much closer to the travel date than was wise.
As you might expect, one went missing with not enough time to get a replacement and post it again.
I contacted the firearm section in HQ and they reissued the missing cert to the station that requested it. They sent me a soft copy which I forwarded to the recipient.
He printed it off, signed it and had no issues with customs despite it not being an original document.
So hat duly doffed to all concerned for a practical solution.
