I am struggling to get a hold of any Vit N55 at the moment and I am looking at alternatives. Taking barrel life into account I have narrowed it down to RS62 or Vit N160, both have similar burn rates to the N555.

I am currently using ELD-X 143gn and Yewtree TLR 114gn.

Has anyone had practical experience with these powder and can provide some real time experience.

Thanks in advance

I use RS62 and had adequate velocity and accuracy. I also used N150 and had similar results. Both with 140gr ELD-M so not too far off the 143gr ELD-X.

I haven’t used N160.

Just nice thing I have found with any powder now days. Buy as much as you can afford or a barrel life’s worth because supply is so dam sporadic.

A mate of mine uses RS62 with really good results. I’ve got N160 doing well with the 147 ELDM, it actually gives me more velocity with that bullet than I could get with the 143 using N555.

Only ever used N160, never had any issues, shoot 120,123 Hornady and 139 Scenars. Strangely just installed GRT and N140 is advised over the 160 for the 120 and 123's. Never used the treble 5 as concerned about burning out the barrel but others on here say shouldn't be a problem and always got 160 easily enough.

Brothers In Arms based on the South coast have N555

I get excellent results from N140 with Sierra 140gr HPBT. Wasn’t expecting it, but when I bought the Creed it was the powder I had, so thought I’d try it first before buying N555 🤷🏼
