Who said it was broadside?? 🙂 I know how the deer was positioned, where I aimed and where the bullet struck. What more do I need? If they don’t all match up I check zero. Surely not a difficult concept. I also know that my shot placement on a broadside deer takes the top of the heart out. If it doesn’t then I reference entrance and exit holes and if there is a discrepancy I check zero.
Interesting to see this as the thread about FAC for DSC1 made me think about practice and how poor the DSC! test now is. This may have been raised on here, apologies if it has.

We've criticised the four shot test that the DSC1 has now effectively become. DMQ have dispensed with the three shot group, but without the 3 shot group, how does the candidate adequately check a zero?
What's even more foolish about the drop in standards is that the zeroing your rifle section of the handbook discusses the three shot group. It's a shame no-one from DMQ is on here and can answer the question.
