Change of priorities within the VW group.
They are built in Bratislava along with the Cayenne and Q7 so I assume that the 3 model range will be dropped as there makes no sense to me in continuing with the lower numbers.
I was launch engineer then later QS engineer on the range back in 2015 in Bratislava.

If you look at the worldwide VW operations they seem to have lost the plot.
They were just like Zeiss very arrogant in Wolfsburg when I worked with their middle management.

On my Phaeton the V6 was the only thing that worked all the time the electronics came from Hans das back street garage supplier in Wolfsburg.

Shame. My 4.2 V8 2008 was a joy to drive, finished like a Pall Mall gentleman's club inside, and notably recovered a Hilux from the UAE desert, much to the embarrassment of its owner.

The 4th Gen Cayenne is a new platform, based on the new Maccan, but they are continuing to make the 3rd Gen alongside the all electric 4th Gen
