Warm Coat

My old sport chief coat has been a fantastically warm coat over the years buts it’s getting a bit thread bare now. I use this coat for static, sitting in hight seat shooting in the winter months, any recommendations for a good warm, waterproof and windproof coat?
Harkila’s driven hunt HWS coat has caught my eye.
Thanks

If it just for static sitting what about one of these??

Incredibly warm. I've one for when/if it gets that cold. Only worn few times last couple years, but life saver if outside all day when Mercury really drops.

I’d get a Snugpak Softie or the newer Army issued PCS thermal jacket (which is nearly as good) and a good GoreTex shell like a Harkila Pro Hunter or maybe a Ridgeline (not Gore Tex and not very breathable) but cut long to keep your arse and legs warm/dry in a seat.

Something I wrote 3 years ago

Don’t go 12v. You need 5v and a usb power bank. I’ve just sold my 12v heated jacket after 25 years. Great on the motorbike but the battery pack, way to big for walking.
£30 from Amazon for the jacket. Look at the measurements in cms, not s,m,l,el etc. £15 to £20 will buy you a power bank as well.
wicking T-shirt, heated jacket, then fleece or puffer style jacket with waterproof jacket on top. Also get a heated jacket without sleeves but ensure it has a heated neck. Makes for a world of difference.
speaking as a person who can freeze in 30 degrees I know what I talking about. And as for the b#####ks about merino etc. Been there done that. If it’s cold, it’s cold, extra heat warms you up and the fancy layers keep the heat inside. That is the only thing that works. Unless you are one of those who has a bbq in the depths of winter wearing a mankind cos your hard as fxxx. In which case, I hate you. Cos I’m kin freezing in my 25 layers.

I've had a deerhunter rusky a few years now (not Heated) but it's no use for walking hard or far in as it's too warm, but it's absolutely great if your not moving far, I don't often need to layer up under it and I have no intention looking for anything warmer, if your a cold arse then that with one of these heated waiscoates under it could be well worth thinking about

Have a look at the Didrikson jackets.
Very warm and waterproof and come in green!!

If I'm going to sit in a high seat for a long time the only coat I will pick from my rack is my good old Deerhunter Ram , Its now 15 or more years old and has been replaced a dozen times but it still comes out every year for Wildfowling and high seats. With arm pit vents, quiet cloth and too many pockets it just can be beaten !!

Layers, thermal tee shirt, shirt to suit occasion, jumper, fleece waistcoat and any old waterproof jacket or your $$$ harkila. Take the layers off as needed.
