Warning ! Cocker scammer

Just thought I’d share a scammer who’s advertised a chocolate working cocker called coco on uk gun dogs, to which I replied and sealed the deal to buy the dog, deposit paid. The dog was to be delivered by the owner on his way to Scotland on a stalking trip. He asked for a second deposit ( which I paid unfortunately) . No dog ever turned up, every excuse going has been used and is still being used. He won’t pay the deposits back but fair play to him he does message every morning to say it will be paid today 4weeks now and I’ve had enough of the lies so it’s court proceedings now, be warned !

Assuming you do end up going to court & get a judgement in your favour, my one bit of advice would be to pay the money & get the judgement transferred to the high court. The reason for doing so is that high court enforcement officers have much greater powers than county court enforcement officers so there is a much better chance of you getting your money & costs back.

If you paid both deposits by bank transfer your bank will refund you… and reclaim the moneys from him will save you taking him to court and further expenses

I got caught out bank refunded my money back less £100 fee . Report it to the police get a crime ref number call your bank give them all the details you will get the money back less the fee

I have started the court proceedings it costs £50. As a director myself I have unfortunately followed this process before to recoup unpaid invoices. I have also reported him to police for fraud. If indeed he does have firearms ( debatable ) hopefully he will lose them. I wonder how many deposits he took for this dog. Once this has concluded I will disclose the contents of our messages they are class.

Then well worth the £78 to take it to the high court for recovery. Looks like the guy is a builder with a dissolved company so may have other creditors dotted around, high court is best chance of recovering what is owed.

@Bowderdale, what a sad state of affairs when a man’s word now counts for nothing. There really are some sharks out there and I can’t but help thinking it will become much worse as the economic situation deteriorates.
I hope that you do get your hard earned money back.
